The Magpies are a club who have been on the brink of catastrophe for so long that their relegation almost feels like a relief.  The club will have time to gather themselves and assess their assets in the Championship before vying for Premier League stability.

The season ahead will be filled with excitement and hope for a better tomorrow as opposed to a terrifying, nauseating flirt with relegation every weekend.

The much maligned Mike Ashley surprised supporters with ambitious signings in January and although some of the new arrivals failed to dazzle at St. James’ Park, it showed that the owner was doing his bit to help the club.

In March, Rafa Benitez was appointed as manager and by June had decided to stay on to guide the Tyneside outfit through the grueling Championship season set to kick-off in August.  The world class Spanish tactician is a Champions League winner and has had stints at top clubs like Liverpool, Napoli, and Real Madrid.

Benitez has restored in fans a ray of hope for the future.  His sheer ability to achieve the required results is encouraging to passionate fans of a club that deserve stability.

Key players have been brought in to aid the tactical revolution.  Bournemouth’s Matt Ritchie has dropped down from the Premier League to join the Magpies even after a successful season with the Cherries.  The hard working winger must be thrilled with the prospect of the project under Rafa Benitez, and this signing alone illustrates just how much a top class manager means in the modern game.

The club has also purchased experienced full-back Jesus Gamez, Arsenal academy graduate Isaac Hayden, Belgian youth prospect Matz Sels, and crafty Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.  The activity in the transfer market has been impressive for a club believed to be in turmoil but this is just another bit of evidence to the stability Benitez has brought to the organization.  The club

The activity in the transfer market has been impressive for a club believed to be in turmoil but this is just another bit of evidence to the stability Benitez has brought to Newcastle.

The club seems to have concluded most of their transfer deals early in the window which in turn means that the new lads will be able to get accustomed to Newcastle’s style of play before the start of the new season.

The last time Newcastle found themselves in a precarious relegation position was disastrous as the club was flirting with a board takeover and players were quite unsettled.

The locker room lost its faith and cohesion and before the team fell apart.  Leaders like Kevin Nolan rose up and inspired the team as he restored unity and belief.

The Magpies went on to win the Championship and secure instant promotion to the Premier League, a feat that the fans will be hoping they can achieve once more.

Now the club is in a more complex situation but with very different circumstances as the players seem to understand the gravity of the dilemma they’re currently undergoing and with Benitez in the dugout, we might be seeing Newcastle back in the Premier League sooner than we think.

The Spaniard will emulate Nolan and create a united locker room with a sublime game plan that can achieve results and bring Newcastle back from the brink.  All the signs are pointing to success for the Magpies, and it is about time the club finally gets their act together and serve the fans.

By the looks of things, Newcastle looks poised to have a great season in the Championship. The seem to be finally getting their act together and on that note fans of the club can expect some thrilling football from Rafa Benitez’s men.
